Big Reveal: Taylor Yard Bridge is Now Complete
We are pleased to release a new set of beautiful images capturing our just-completed Taylor Yard Bridge. The photos come courtesy of LA photographer Mike Kelley, who spent days shooting the bold orange bridge over the Los Angeles River in various lights and weather.
The new series of images fully detail the project’s most distinctive feature: its bright orange “floating” box truss.
Inspired by old railroad bridges that once crossed the LA River, the perfectly-level truss is designed to simply hold the path in place as it slopes to meet the elevations of each bank. Two staggered view decks in the middle of the span offer a venue for pop-up events and peaceful contemplation of the river, bringing community and serenity to an area that historically experienced gang violence.
